About The Autism Society of Newfoundland - ASNL
The Autism Society of Newfoundland and Labrador is a volunteer organization that was formed in 1984 by concerned parents of autistic children, professionals and others who are interested in the welfare of autistic persons and their families.
The Society has endeavoured to speak on behalf of, and provide services to, those who most need support.
Activities have included:
- counseling families
- addressing service providers
- lobbying government agencies
- organizing and presenting at conferences and workshops
- making presentations
- developing summer programs for children
- distributing information.
The Society has established parent groups and chapters throughout the province.
