The impact goal of the American Heart Association is to reduce stroke, heart disease and risk by 25% by 2010. Progress will be measured by:
- an elimination of the growth of obesity and disease
- a 25% reduction in the death rate from coronary heart disease and stroke
- a 25% reduction in the prevalence of high blood cholesterol, smoking and physical inactivity
- a 25% reduction in the rate of uncontrolled high blood pressure
